Bazel Minerals is a new North West company, set up for sandstone extraction and crushing activities in Lancashire.

Wide view across Lancashire farmland to distant moorland hills, drystone walls and hedges, broken cloud and moving light.

What we doSandstone extraction and crushing activities in Lancashire.

That's the whole job, and we'd rather do it well than do more. We'll lift sandstone from the face, keep the best of it whole for walling, rockery and boulders, and crush and screen the rest into graded aggregates, sub-base and fill.

A sandstone quarry face after rain in early morning, the stone darkened to honey and rust where wet, puddles on the floor reflecting the face, mist in trees above.
Extract · Worked bed by bed, so good stone isn't wasted in the crusher.

How we mean to run it

How we mean to run it

Straight answers.

If our stone suits your job, we'll say so. If it doesn't, we'll say that too.

Local stone for local jobs.

A newly planted double hedgerow of young hawthorn and hazel in guards along a field edge on restored pasture, fresh soil, distant fields.
Restoration · New hedges link the restored ground to the fields.

Care for the land.

Work to the conditions, keep the neighbours informed, and put the ground back when we're done with it.

A sandstone quarry face lit warm orange by the last evening sun, long shadows across the beds, trees in silhouette along the top, a bare level floor with a few loose blocks.
The same warm buff you see in Lancashire's walls and farmhouses.

A stone that belongs here

Sandstone is the stone of much of Lancashire: the field walls, the farmhouses, the terraces, the gate piers. It splits along its beds into workable pieces and weathers to warm buffs and greys. Crushed, it makes a sound, workable aggregate for drainage, bedding and base.
